THE ASSOCIATION

MAUD FONTENOY FOUNDATION

The Maud Fontenoy Foundation, created in 2008, operates in France and internationally to protect the oceans. It organises educational initiatives focussed on the environment for the younger generation and the general public, with support from scientific partners and the French Ministry of National Education. The charity has been solicited by the latter for its Sea Education programme and the relaunch of its Sea Class programme.

Its aim is both ecological and social: protecting the environment, and in particular the oceans, is a humanitarian issue that affects us all, without exception. Since its creation, 720,000 children have benefited from the charity’s activities.

PROGRAMME SUPPORTED BY THE KEYRUS FOUNDATION

Educational Challenge for the Environment

The educational challenge allows schools, from primary to secondary, to deploy teaching programmes, using hands-on educational kits, among students.

These free kits, which are available to all teachers, offer content on different themes linked to protecting the planet. On average, 120,000 children from all age groups use Maud Fontenoy Foundation materials each year, with 40,000 taking part in the challenge.

The top three prizes for each age group are cheques of €500 to €1000 towards educational field trips, as well as gifts for students and their teachers.

Environmental protection is a key issue for The Keyrus Foundation, which has decided to support the Maud Fontenoy Foundation, as it actively works to protect the oceans.
