The Fonds Régional d'Art Contemporain PACA

The objectives of the Fonds Régional d'Art Contemporain (FRAC) (Regional funds for contemporary art), which were created 35 years ago, are to build up public collections of contemporary art, support artistic creation at regional level, and share their public heritage of contemporary works as a means of raising awareness and enhancing knowledge amongst the widest possible audience.

For more than twenty years now, the Frac for the Provence-Alpes-Côte d'Azur region has been very active in seeking out and supporting artistic creation by the young, and thanks to these efforts, it now has a collection that is representative of the main international trends in contemporary artistic creation.

THE PROGRAM SUPPORTED BY THE KEYRUS FOUNDATION

FRACOMADE

A new and novel teaching project for spreading knowledge of contemporary works of art particularly caught the attention of the Keyrus Foundation : the Fracomade project. It involves a digital kit designed to create a novel and interactive form of mediation based on works from the FRAC's collection in the six counties comprising the Provence-Alpes-Côte d'Azur Region.

With this setup, the user is able to discover a contemporary work of art through creative activities, and the idea behind this is to make as many people as possible more aware of new artistic and technological practices.

The idea of raising awareness of art by combining it with digital is fully in line with the vision of the Keyrus Foundation, which seeks to place technological innovation at the heart of all its educational and artistic projects.
