Art dans la cité
The association
Art dans la cité
Created in late 1999, Art dans la Cité’s aim is to introduce contemporary visual art into hospitals with a competition for new and renowned artists who come to the residences. With an international track-record of more than 100 installations, Art dans la Cité positions itself as the benchmark for the creation of works of art especially for hospitals.
Since 2010, Art dans la Cité has developed an important reflection on the use of tools and digital creations in order to introduce art into private areas such as patients’ rooms.
THE PROGRAM SUPPORTED BY THE KEYRUS FOUNDATION
ILLUMINART
Illuminart was created in 2014 by Art dans la Cité’s teams, following their artistic experiences in hospitals and the Venezuelan artist, Santiago Torres’s, competition.
Illuminart is an innovative, immersive and interactive way of projecting captivating artistic content, chosen by the user, who can project an image, transform it, or immerse themselves in it.
It has been proven to have numerous cognitive benefits: lowering stress, loneliness and pain, as well as increasing well-being and self-worth.
The Keyrus Foundation supports this humanitarian project which is aimed to be integrated into the hospitals of tomorrow.
